Picture: Casa dei bambini, Altona

With a floor area of 140 square metres, the activity room easily fulfils the Montessori ideal of leaving half the space free. The oval drawn on the floor, on which the children practised their movement exercises, is clearly visible on the picture. The large window looks onto the rear terrace [Montessori Children's House on Koldingsstrasse in Altona, 1928] - T. Müller, R. Schneider, Lehrmaterialien 1913-1935. Möbel und Architektur.
